Hello, my pen name is Hester.
This blog is not about me. It's about words. I love words. They're so useful, when handled properly.
We use words without thinking about it. From the time we are toddlers asking "Whassat?" until the day the coroner pronounces us deceased, words are an intrinsic part of our lives.

We use words:
- to convey information
- to command those under our authority
- to seek assistance
- to ask forgiveness
- to soothe a work-worn, traffic-frazzled husband
- to uplift a discouraged friend
- to urge on a child attempting a challenging task
- to persuade an adversary to come over to our side

I plan to guide you on the adventure of exploring the usefulness and power of words in our daily lives. Don't worry. This isn't going to be some bland blog-version of a thesaurus or dictionary. I hope to prick you to expand your vocabulary and to carefully consider the words you use and how you use them. I also hope to encourage you by discussing various topics. (Okay. That seems a bit of a stretch. But I plan to use WORDS to do it!)

My target audience is:
- The stay-at-home mother of small children who wonders if it's worth the trouble.
- The stay-at-home mother of many children who knows it's worth it, but needs a little encouragement.
- The working mother who wonders if it's all worth the trouble.
- The working mother who thinks it's worth it but needs a smile sent her way.
- The older woman who feels her days of usefulness are over.
- The older woman who believes God still has a plan for her life and needs some urging on.
- The single mother who is sinking under the burden of trying to be both parents.
- The single woman who battles depression.
- The single woman who is walking victoriously through life and likes a challenge.
- The young maiden buffeted by the temptations of youth.
- The young maiden serving her family at home.
- And any other female who wants to read this!
I cannot exclude males - I have no control over who reads this. But I do not presume to instruct men; I am not qualified.
I created this blog only today, and WHEW! I didn't realize how much work that is. Please be patient. I'm a low-tech, greenie and this is my first experience blogging.
Yours for rich and right verbiage,
Hester
