Nature by Numbers

I was blown away by this stunning video. It's not really about words or communicating, but about math and orderliness.  The images will put you in awe of our matchless Creator, and hopefully put you to your knees in worship of His creative genius and power.  And that, my gentle reader, should bring you much encouragement.

Because the word "awesome" has been worn thin in the past decade,  I've chosen to reserve it strictly for things that the Lord has done.  This math-challenged mom has entertained a recent fascination with Fibonacci numbers (0+1=1, 1+1=2, 1+2=3, 2+3=5, 3+5=8, 5+8=13, and so on) and the Golden Mean, so this video held me spellbound with dropped jaw.  Unresevedly, I say after watching this, our God is an AWESOME mathematician and artist!

You  might want to mute the sound.  There is no narration, only a very, very, very monotonous song.

In awe of our Creator,
Hester

That’s a beautifully done video. I, too, am in awe and wonder of our Creator. The glories of His manifold works bare testament to His majesty.

Numbers being more my native language than words, I was quite happy to see the topic of your post. While I fully realize that one’s interpretation of evidence is ruled by his worldview, I nevertheless have always found God’s revelation of Himself through Creation to be a very clear expression of the “engineer” side of His nature.

There’s a certain beauty within mathematical equations. We are commanded, to the extent humanly possible, to think God’s thoughts after Him. When the sides balance and an answer is achieved, I always feel a certain satisfaction -- as though I managed to gain a glimpse of something wonderful.

James Nickel wrote a book about these very topics entitled “Mathematics: Is God Silent?” Currently, it’s still on my must-read list, but my brother has read it, and highly recommends it. It can be purchased here:

Nickel also has available, for free on his website, an article specifically concerning the Fibonacci sequence:
